I sure love the Atlanta heat, but I'm happy for the fall.

This is a big week ahead. And I'm ready for it.
Hope to finish up some songs tomorrow with Kelsey for the upcoming "Alta Avenue" 7in/ep. Rehearsal Wednesday with the boys for our gig Thursday @ TWAINS w/ Waller. That thing gets going at 830, goes till a little past 11 and it's freeee! Yes, free. Friday night we got Chickens N Pigs & The Mini Guns over at the Earl. Then on Saturday the wait is over for the OTHER SOUND FESTIVAL!! Really happy this is finally so close. Gonzo Orchestra plays at 8 sharp at The Five Spot w/ Grand Prize Winners, Weapons of Audio, ORYX n Crake & Omelet. Wow, gonna be a fun walk home after this one.

Also, got an interview going up this week with Mr. Tom Chesire over at DRY INK MAG
Y'all please check that out, pretty please with a nilla wafer on top!
It was fun seeing the Wolves and hanging with them last weekend at the Drunken Unicorn for the Authors Apology record release. Whew..

And even with a new job I still stay up til 4am. Thank God for my baby's new pillows. Here are some images..

We Almost Lost It.

Bringing It All Back Home to Rock Hill SC! This Saturday, September 18th! @ the Money w/ 500 Miles to Memphis! Here is the poster, so now you know. I hope this trip proves to be full of good times and good friends like the many we've had before. And the many to come.

Lots of good things happening here in Atlanta the last couple of weeks. I've been fortunate to see many great bands and be apart of some great music. The Mini-Machine Guns pulled off a fantastic, well rehearsed CD release show at The 5 Spot. Go see them the day before The Other Sound Festival. October 1st @ the Earl with Chickens N Pigs. Ryan Sheffield came down from Asheville and it was a blessing getting to play with him and Waller. Go buy Ryan's debut record "Head for the Coast" right now. It's really, really good. I also got to record some guitar at The Big City Thinking studio in East Atlanta with Jason Waller. He's working on a new 7 song EP which is going to sound amazing! Keep Nov. 5 open on your calendar for his album release show. He's got Ben Trickey opening up that night. Just picked up his awesome new LP 'Come on, Hold on" @ the 529 last week while opening for Richard Buckner. Thank you WRAS for all the awesome ticket giveaways. Thanks also to Kelly Anderson for getting us into night one of Those Darlins @ the Earl last weekend. So much fun! Picked up their cool new 7in "NightJogger", then headed over to the529 for a nightcap where we ran into some old friends from Cleveland, HotChaCha. Missed their set, but got their new handmade ltd ed LP, "Fantastic Static". Pretty cool, all hand screened covers, printed on old recycled LP's. That brings it to tonight where we got more free tickets to the Earl from 88.5. This go round we saw Dungen from Sweeden. Wow, one of the coolest and most original bands I have seen in a long time. Def go check them out. Well worth it.

The Gonzo Orchestra is currently finishing some tracks with Kelsey Wilson. In hopes of releasing a fancy debut 7in' by the end of the year. For now, here are some art ideas from recent days. Come out to an upcoming show, pick up your handmade Gonzo Orchestra Frisbee equipped with CD! Or come to the Midtown Festival of the Arts on Sept.26 if you'd like to pick some of my original artwork, prints, and drawings. I'll be there with my friends The Serenaders from one o'clock on playing songs and trying to sell my work.

Thanks! JR
